It is difficult to realize what goes on in our lives without being aware until we learn about loss of family member through obituaries and emails. Adele - so sorry to hear this and hope you and your family are all supporting each other and know that AL has joined other family members in a better life. I am very sorry for your loss.
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Al for the last 10 years at the NFGA. It is not often that a guy like him comes around. His character, demeanor, sincerity, compassion, loyalty, along with his faith, left a lasting impression on me and many others.
There aren’t too many men like Al Mendel around nowadays. He made me and everyone who got to know him a better person.

I'm am so sorry for your loss of such an amazing man. Al was always willing to give of himself in anyway needed for the benefit of our youth in the Scouting program. Please take comfort in knowing that your family is in our prayers in this time of sorrow.

Mendel Family,
Al was great man. I know him from NFGA and over the years he always had a smile, a kind word and helpful hints. His passing comes as a shock. I will miss seeing him around the club.
