Doris E. Dumais

NASHUA- Doris Edith Dumais, 75, died peacefully at her home on Monday morning, October 23, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Doris is the beloved wife of Bertrand Dumais whom she married in 1981 following the passing of her husband Richard Hallett who predeceased her in 1973.

Doris was born in Nashua on May 2, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Hilaire and Flore (Cote) Lafleur. She attended school in the Nashua School System and was a graduate of Nashua High School with the class of 1960.

For many years, she was employed at New England Telephone as a telephone operator until 1973. After taking time off to raise her children, Doris went to work for Harris Corporation in Nashua, then moved to a job at Sanders/Lockheed, and retired from BAE systems in 2006.

Doris loved the beach and enjoyed vacationing in Florida with family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing and spending with her grandson, Tommy, at Pine River Pond. She loved to read, go for walks, bake, and visit with people she loved. She was a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. She was known for her crocheted gifts for family, always having a kind word for her friends, her quick wit, and having just enough spunk to make everyone smile.

In addition to her husband of 36 years, Bertrand, she is survived by her children, her daughter, Tracey Hanlon and her husband Edward of Amherst, NH, Cheri Walton of Jackson, WI, Laurel Cavanaugh of Nashua, NH, and Steven Hallett of Concord, NH; her grandchildren, Thomas, Nicholas, Adam, and Jacob Hanlon of Amherst, NH, Vanessa Gregoire and her husband Austin of Manchester, Victor Soucy Jr and his wife Sarah of Nashua, Myles Jadis of Hollywood, FL, and Seth and Taylor Hallett of Manchester. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Luke and Joseph Gregoire, Liam Soucy, and Olivia Hanlon; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Doris was predeceased by her first husband, Richard, her sister Rolande LaFrance of Nashua, her brother, Roger Lafleur of Mena, AR, and her granddaughter Rian Hallett Walton of Nashua.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on THURSDAY, October 26th from 4 until 7 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on FRIDAY, October 27th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W. Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doris’ name to Home, Health, and Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
