NASHUA- Gloria J. Kavanaugh, 83, died peacefully Monday morning, April 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.
Gloria was born on November 22, 1934 in Gardner, MA and was the daughter of the late Louis and Emelia (Moreau) Maher.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the secretary to the Assistant Superintendent in the Nashua School System for 19 years.
In her free time, Gloria enjoyed her monthly luncheon group with the ladies in her neighborhood, which was a tradition that began in the 80’s. She also loved her monthly card group, where they would play Bridge. Gloria also enjoyed playing cards with her sons, including Cribbage and Whist. She was an avid pet lover and had a special affection for her cats, Bugsy and Rascal. She traveled often and some of her favorite destinations were Europe, California, and Hawaii but above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family. Gloria especially found joy during the holidays.
She is survived by her four sons, Michael Kavanaugh, Alan Kavanaugh, Scott Kavanaugh all of Nashua and Peter Kavanaugh and his wife Pam of Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on TUESDAY, April 24th at 9:30 AM in the Parish of the Resurrection Church, 449 Broad Street, Nashua. Burial will take place at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria’s name to the Nashua Humane Society, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
