NASHUA- John W. Hebert, 86, died peacefully, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Bridges by Epoch in Nashua; he was surrounded by his loving family. John was the beloved husband of the late Claire (Desjarlais) Hebert who predeceased him on April 22, 2017.
John was born in Nashua on May 20, 1931 and was the son of the late Wilfred and Viola (Flanders) Hebert. He received his education in the Nashua School System and following his graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged.
Prior to his retirement, John was an owner of his family business that had been passed down from previous generations. His family still proudly operated C & R Furniture and Appliance in Nashua until 2006.
In his free time, John truly loved boating especially on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire or his favorite place to take his family, Rockport, Massachusetts. He also enjoyed wood working and was an established finished carpenter and found joy in building furniture. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and remembered for the constant support he provided as the patriarch of his family.
John is survived by his two children, David Hebert and Lori Duenas of Nashua and Stacey Negron and Jay of Nashua; as well as his grandchildren, Brittany, Kyana, Ricardo, and Cristina. He will also be missed by his beloved dog, Cocoa.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on MONDAY, February 26th from 6 until 8 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 27th at 10 AM in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua. Interment to follow and military honors presented in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to the Nashua Humane Society, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
