Our beloved Norman P Belliveau, 87, passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2016 at Aynsley Place in Nashua, NH with family by his side.  He was predeceased by his wife Muriel E. (Trombly) Belliveau to whom he spent 61 loving years of marriage until her passing in 2015.  Norman and Muriel will now enjoy their weekly dance to Lawrence Welk’s Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehn together again.

Norman was born on August 19, 1929 in New Bedford, MA the son of Freeman and Rhea (Desruisseau) Belliveau.  At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served on several Aircraft carriers, including the USS Midway, USS Bennington, USS Roosevelt and lastly the USS Constellation.  During his 20-year career he was awarded several decorations including the WWII Victory Medal, European American Middle Easter Area Medal, European Navy Occupation Medal, and the National Defense Medal. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1966.

After his time in the Navy, he settled in Nashua with his wife and two daughters and enrolled at the Franklin Institute of Boston. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1969.  He was employed by several Nashua businesses including Ingersol Rand, Maynard & Paquette Engineering, and Sears Roebuck Company before retiring.

Norm had a great attitude and sense of humor and enjoyed helping friends and family with electrical and mechanical problems.  In his younger years, Norm enjoyed hunting with his brothers, fishing, and skiing. In later years, he and his late wife Muriel spent winters in Florida with friends and family.  Many will remember Norman’s love of a fresh pot of coffee and something sweet (when Muriel would allow it!). He was a lifetime member of the Nashua Elks and the Fleet Reserve Association, and parishioner of St. Louis church in Nashua.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lynn Belliveau of Nashua and Leanne Wells and her husband Stephen of Milford and two brothers, Bob Belliveau and Gerry Belliveau and his wife Joanne all of Manchester NH.

“Pepere” will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Rebekah McGuire and her husband Matthew of Nashua, Erika Maynard of Washington DC, Hayley and Austin Wells of Milford NH, Sarah Wells Schlobohm of Lakeland FL, Gary Wells of Hudson NH, and two great grandchildren, Lexi and Myles McGuire. He is also survived by his godson, Park Thornton, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
