Welcome to the memorial page for

Philip Edward Flynn

September 2, 1929 ~ September 18, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Hudson, NH- Philip Edward Flynn, 87, was called to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, September 18, 2016, after a sudden and brief illness.  He passed peacefully after a beautiful day surrounded by family and friends at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.

The son of the late Anthony and Bridget Gertrude (Bannon) Flynn, Philip was born on September 2, 1929, in Cambridge, MA.  He was predeceased by his brother A. Paul Flynn of Cambridge, MA, his sister Ethel Flynn of Arlington, MA, and his sister Marie Norder of Sommerville, MA.  He was also predeceased by his first wife, Rosemary (Bagley) Flynn, of Cambridge, MA and Nashua, NH.

Philip enjoyed a long career in sales, ending his career as a District Sales Manager for the International Salt Company division of Akzo Nobel.  He traveled throughout New Hampshire and Vermont working to make sure that there was enough road salt available to battle New England’s worst winters.  He was highly respected by highway engineers and road agents throughout the region, and enjoyed a reputation for providing excellent customer service and support.

Family was always a big part of Philip’s life.  He thoroughly enjoyed himself at family gatherings, especially if it included a good apple pie, eclairs, Tootsie Rolls, or a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee.  He treasured the time he spent with his children and their families, and was particularly proud of his 6 grandsons.  He lived to attend their numerous sporting and school events, along with grammar school, middle school, high school, and college graduations.  A great day for him was taking one of them to Chuck’s Barber Shop for a haircut, followed by a hot chocolate and a donut at the Puritan Diner.  Philip was also big fan of the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots, and the UNH Wildcats.  He was also known to have lost thousands of golf balls at golf courses throughout New England!

Service to others was always a very big part of Philip’s life.  He enjoyed a 34 year association with the Nashua Lion’s club, where he served 5 terms as the club’s president, and was a Past District Governor at the state level.  He was a Director of Lions Club Camp Pride, and the Lions Twin State Soccer Association.  Philip received a Presidential Leadership Medal from Lion’s International President Al Brandel.  He was also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, a Granite State Fellow, and a Life Member of the Nashua Club.  The spirit of Lionism was strong in Philip, and he was loved and respected by many for both his works and involvement.

Philip is survived by a proud and loving family.  He leaves behind his wife of 24 years Evelyn (McNeil) Flynn of Hudson, NH, his son Kevin and his wife Tamara of Nashua, NH, his daughter Mary Louise Annicchiarico and her husband Richard of Nashua, NH, his daughter Colleen Flynn and her dear friend Amy Parsons, both of Manchester NH, and his daughter Jane Marie Lauren and her husband Jeremy, of Penacook, NH.  Philip also leaves behind six adoring grandchildren:  Michael Flynn, and his wife Annie, Ryan Flynn, Alan and Vincent Annicchiarico, and Zachary and Matthew Lauren.  Philip also dearly loved his niece Mary Flynn, of Cambridge, MA, and his nephew Paul Flynn, his wife Ann Marie, and son Michael of Reading, MA.  He is also survived by his three stepchildren Karen Richards, Paul Babinski, and David Babinski.

Arrangements- Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, September 23, 2016, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Anctil-Rochette Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley St, Nashua, NH.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Nashua on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00 am.  A private family burial will take place later in Cambridge, MA.
