Richard K. Bennett

Richard Kelley Bennett, 58, of Nashua passed away on Saturday July 30, 2016 at the Lahey Hospital, Burlington, MA.  Anyone that knew him knows he went by Kelley.

Kelley was born in Miami, FL on July 26, 1958 a son of Rose Marie (Kelley) Smith and the late Lloyd Bennett.  He was the loving husband of Cheryl (Stayman) Bennett of Nashua.

Kelley attended schools in Miami, FL where he was born and raised.  He finished his education in Laconia, NH where he then entered the US Army as an Electronic Warfare/Intercept Systems Repairman.  Kelley honorably served in the Army for 16 years.  While in the Army, he received “Aviator of the Year” for outstanding achievements in his unit.  Kelley had been employed by Textron Systems for 25 years where he and his team received an award for “Innovator of the year.”  This is no surprise, because he spent his entire childhood and adulthood innovating, creating and building.  His hobbies included billiards, building and modifying model airplanes and hanging out with friends and family.  He absolutely loved spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee.  He was a die-hard fan of the Boston Red Sox and he rarely missed watching a game.

Besides his mother and his wife of 19 years, Kelley is survived by;

Two daughters; Kristy Bennett and her boyfriend Jason Stewart and Katey Bennett and her fiancé Leighton Sargent

One step-daughter; Krystle Stayman

One step-son; Sean Stayman

One sister; Katt Stewart and her husband Terry

A grandson; Matthew Nickerson with another grandchild on the way

SERVICES:  Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 5, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM in the Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua.  Military honors will take place at 8 PM in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or online at www.dana-farber.org.
