Robert Labednick

March 10, 1943 ~ October 4, 2016 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Our beloved Robert (Bob) Labednick, 73, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2016, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Claire Labednick (Lessard).

Bob was born on March 10, 1943 in Nashua, NH, the son of Peter and Gertrude (Larouche) Labednick. He attended Nashua High School graduating in 1962. Always ambitious and hardworking, as a teenager, Bob assisted his father, Peter, in his father’s TV repair business after school and at Roland’s as a short order cook. Upon graduation, he worked for the City of Nashua in the survey department. Eventually, he left the City and joined Public Service Company of New Hampshire in the mid 1960’s as a lineman and was elevated to Supervisor until his retirement in 2006.

He settled with his family in Hollis, New Hampshire in 1968 with his wife and two young daughters where he lived for close to fifty years in the same house.

When his family was young, Bob enjoyed traveling to Disney World and camping at Fort Wilderness in Orlando Florida during his daughters school vacations. His favorite attraction was the Country Bear Jamboree. Bob and his wife also spent time traveling to Arizona, California, Mexico, Canada, Nova Scotia and Bermuda. He particularly enjoyed exploring the roads of New England from the White Mountains to the coast.

Bob, ever the utilitarian, was reliable, loyal and dedicated to his friends and family. The ultimate handyman, he enjoyed tinkering and was always on hand to offer help or assist with any mechanical item.

Bob was an avid barterer and bargain hunter. He visited many flea markets and yard sales and had collected many antiquities over the years. He routinely donated items to local charity’s, such as the Nashua Children’s Home, and restored sporting equipment and bicycles, and donated to local schools.

He is survived by his two daughters, Donna Corey and her husband Jeff of Brookline, NH, and Linda Osgood and her husband Andrew of Milford, NH. “Pepere” will be deeply missed by his two grandchildren, Erica Osgood of Durham, NH and John Osgood of Milford, NH, as well as many nieces, including Maribeth Labednick-Bishop, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, who cared for Bob with love and compassion.
