NASHUA- Rosario Asselin, 93, died December 12, 2017 peacefully at Greenbriar Terrace in Nashua. He is the beloved husband of Annette (Bleau) Asselin with whom he shared 72 years of marriage.

Rosario was born on February 28, 1924 in Nashua, NH and was the son of the late Emile and Rose Marie (Nadeau) Asselin. During WWII, Rosario proudly served his country in the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged in February of 1946.

For many years, he was employed by Bronze Craft Corp in Nashua until his retirement.

He built a home in the Crown Hill area of Nashua and raised a family there. He loved tinkering and could fix most anything his family broke. He enjoyed playing cribbage or most and card game you could suggest. He also loved teaching his grandchildren to play.

In addition to his wife, Rosario is survived by daughters Anita Guerette and her husband Arthur of Hudson and Denise Hudson and her husband David of Nashua; his sons, Daniel Asselin and his wife Denise of Merrimack, David Asselin and his wife Suzanne of Milford, Richard Asselin of Fitchburg, MA, as well as his daughter-in-law, Nancy (Cote) Asselin. He is also survived by his sister, Leona Belanger of Nashua and his brother Roger Asselin and his wife Gertrude of Oviedo, Florida; his 14 grandchildren, Julie Guerette, Theresa Guerette, Matthew Hudson, Lacy Courmier, Chelsea Hudson, Steven Asselin, Sarah Asselin, Ryan Asselin, Michael Asselin, Katelyn Noonan, Jeffrey Asselin, Jarad Asselin, Nicole Asselin, and Jason Asselin; his ten great-grandchildren, Merceidiz Diaz, Trenton Cormier, Evalyn Cormier, Grace Hudson, Abigail Hudson, Reagan Hudson, Stephen Troll, Lucas Troll, Bailey Asselin, and Emmy Asselin; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Gerard Asselin.

Rosario’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Greenbriar Terrace for their loving and compassionate care provided to Rosario.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on FRIDAY, December 15th from 10 until 11 AM in St. John XXIII Parish/Infant Jesus Church, 121 Allds Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will follow in the Church at 11 AM and interment and military honors will take place in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosario’s name to Home, Health, and Hospice, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
