Arthur A. Bechard, 92, of Nashua passed away peacefully on Monday December 15, 2014 at Hunt Community.

Arthur was born in Nashua on October 28, 1922, a son of the late Joseph and Laura (Gilbert) Bechard. He was the beloved husband of Angele L. (Desmarais) Bechard of Nashua.

Arthur was a lifelong resident of Nashua and attended Nashua Schools. He honorably served our country with the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Prior to retirement, he worked in the custodial department for the Nashua School District. He enjoyed woodworking and working outdoors. Arthur was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Arthur was predeceased by two brothers; Robert Bechard, Albert J. Bechard, and three sisters; Lea Jean, Irene Bois, Theresa Tremblay, one son-in-law; Michael P. Ross.

Besides his wife, Arthur is survived by:

Two daughters; Gloria B. Ross of Nashua, Yvonne R. Lavallee and her husband William of Nashua

One son; Leo A. Bechard and his wife Margaret Venema of Ann Arbor MI

11 grandchildren; James M. Ross, Katherine Ross McNeil, Kristen Bechard, Rachel Bechard, Joseph Bechard, Jonathan Lavallee, Brian Lavallee, Christopher Lavallee, Andrea Verrannault, Amy Lavallee, Steven Lavallee

11 great-grandchildren; Conor Ross, Nora Ross, Jacob McNeil, Zachary Perrotte, Margaret Carlson, Tyler Lavallee, Devin Lavallee, Logan Lavallee, Jaxon Lavallee, Nolan Verrannault, Brayden Lavallee

One brother; Charles Bechard of Nashua

Two sisters; Rita Noel of Nashua, Rachel Othot of Nashua

As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Friday December 19, 2014 in the Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley Street Nashua NH 03060, from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday December 20, 2014 in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 West Hollis Street Nashua, at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hunt Community Employee Scholarship Fund, 10 Allds Street Nashua NH 03060 or St. Joseph Parish, 777 West Hollis Street Nashua NH 03062.
