OBITUARY: VICTORIA J. (KOPKA) OBAN
Victoria J. (Kopka) Oban, 89, of Nashua, passed away Wednesday February 17, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital.
Victoria was born in Nashua on September 8, 1920, a daughter of the late John & Sofia (Gacek) Kopka. She was the widow of Raymond P. Oban Jr. who died December 10, 2006.
Victoria was a lifelong Nashua resident and she was educated in local schools. During the war, she drove trucks at Fort Devens. A professional woman, she worked in the computer industry in its beginning of the 1950’s. She had been employed by the former Doehla Greeting Card Co, Clymers and prior to her retirement at the age of 77 as general manager of DMGT. Victoria enjoyed spending summers in Barrington, NH at her summer home. The second to the youngest of ten children, she enjoyed all her family members. Victoria was an avid baseball fan. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Victoria was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters, Helen Schofield, Mary Curran, Josephine Lee, Benjamin Kopka, Walter Kopka, Joseph Kopka, John S. Kopka Jr. and Theodore Kopka.
Victoria is survived by;
One son; Raymond P. Oban III of Nashua
One brother; Edmund Kopka of Nashua
A sister-in-law; Angeline Kopka of Nashua
Her cat Abby who she loved dearly
Also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Victoria touched many lives and was loved by all.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 4 to 8 PM in the Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday February 22, 2010 in Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Rd., Nashua at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson. |
