ROBERT MURRAY

Obituary- Robert "Bob" (MadDog) Murray, also known as "Pep", devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, of 76 Pike St., Nashua died peacefully March 1, 2016. A lifelong resident of Nashua, Bob was the son of the late William H. Murray, Sr. and Marie LaPorte Murray.

Bob spent his teenage years in the Cedar Street area where he played pick-up football, listened to records on the stoop with his friends, and eventually married the girl next door…twice. He was the biggest St. Louis Rams fan since age twelve when he picked their colors after seeing them play on a color television. He had an extensive collection of Rams memorabilia and attended every Rams Superbowl. He met many NFL players over the years including Eric Dickerson and, reluctantly, Tom Brady. He traveled to numerous other Superbowls with his grandsons in tow. In addition to the love of his NFL team, he was an avid golfer and music fan having attended many concerts including Elton John, Diana Ross, The Bee Gees, Barry Manilow, and Lady Antebellum. His past adventures included training race horses at Rockingham Race Track, traveling to Berlin, Germany where he helped to take the Wall down, and visiting Florida, Jamaica, and the Bahamas to sunbathe in the sun that he loved so much. In his later years he enjoyed driving to Canada with his family to spend time in the cottage he was building. It was his favorite hideaway.

Bob was born in Nashua on March 15, 1940. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years Loretta (St. Laurent) Murray, his daughters, Melissa Cormier and Stacie Coburn, son-in-law Dana Coburn, four grandsons, Troy N. Turner, Ryan P. Turner, Connor R. Coburn, and Jadon B. Cormier, two brothers William H. Murray, Jr, and David Murray, two beloved brothers -in-law, Thomas St. Laurent, and Raymond St. Laurent, a brother-in-law Jack Hegarty, a sister-in-law Annette Murray, extended family members, Roger Turner and Bradley Cormier, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was employed for thirty-two years by the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1999. While employed at the Post Office he was known for his sense of humor and antics including dressing as a Rams cheerleader. After retiring he worked in construction for many years, and shared his love of Captain Morgan with many new friends.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Murray, Michael Murray, Francis Murray, Richard Murray, Margaret Krewski, Anna Duhamel, Delia Bergeron, Jane Bonnette, and Katherine Hegarty.
