Robert "Bob" Murphy Obituary

Robert “Bob” Patrick Murphy, 57, died peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack on Saturday, March 30, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Lisa A. Morgan-Murphy with whom he shared 19 years of marriage with before her passing in the beginning of the 2020 pandemic.

Bob was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 24, 1966 and was the son of the late David Thomas and Dorothy Lee (Crane) Murphy. He was a graduate of Westford Academy in Westford, MA. For many years, he worked as a HVAC Technician for Nashoba Heating and Cooling in Westford, MA and for the last 15 years, he was self employed doing home inspections and handyman work when he should’ve been enjoying retirement.

In his free time, Bob enjoyed watching NASCAR, Andy Griffith, Leave it to Beaver, Seinfeld, Various News Netwotks, Patriots Football, golfing, attending comedy shows, the casino (in his younger years) and spending time with his children and grandchild any chance he could. He was affectionately known as “Dr. Dolittle,” all animals gathered to Bob.

He loved the time spent at the beach and had a goal of revisiting Hawaii prior to his illness. He will be remembered for his use of colorful language his neighbors will deeply miss when he was fixing something in the yard or expressing his emotions. He had a deep love for ice cream (which he had a bowl every night) & Raisin Bran cereal every morning, which he had a special spoon for

Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his granddaughter, Stevie Lee whom he’d frequently play “hooky” from preschool and take to the park, pet store or local ice cream stand for hot dogs and ice cream (shocker).

Bob is survived by his two children, Chauni Morgan and Janiel Murphy; his granddaughter, Stevie of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by his three siblings, Heather Ferguson of Maine, Kevin Murphy, Catherine Hacker and her husband Darryl of Texas; his best friend, Scott Wilder and his wife Sabrina of Pennsylvania as well as many nieces, nephews and friends from all over.

In addition to his wife, Lisa and his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Michael Murphy and his brother-in-law, Larry Ferguson.

In the few words of the greatest man known to those whom loved him most, “ Shaka Bruh & Raise some Hell”.

His interment will be held privately for his children and grandchild and will take place at Edgewood Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held the weekend of June 1st 2024 to honor both Bob & Lisa Murphy, details will be posted via social media, all who knew them are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Nashua Humane Society, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
