Andrew R Szewczuk

NASHUA- Andrew R. ‘Andy’ Szewczuk, 73, died peacefully Saturday morning, October 26, 2019, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. He is the beloved husband of Mary (Murphy) Szewczuk with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Andy was born in Bronx, NY on June 7, 1946 and was the son the of the late Andrew and Eileen (Finn) Szewczuk. He resided in New York City for most of his life, moving to Nashua eight years ago.

He proudly served his country in the United State Navy during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1970.

For many years, Andy went on to be employed as a fire protection and plumbing engineer, employed by Jaros, Baum, Bolles, Consulting Engineers in Manhattan, NY until his retirement.

While living in New York, he was very active in the Community Theatre where he acted and directed in many performances. Andy also took pride in the play that he wrote, “Subway”, which was performed in the Community Theatre as well. While living in New Hampshire, he became a member of both the Elk’s Lodge as well as the VFW. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his daughter Irene Stankard and her husband David of Littleton, MA; his four grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Michael, and Holly Stankard of Littleton, MA; as well as his sister, Eileen Green and her husband Christopher of Virginia and his nieces.  

Relatives and friends are invited to Andy’s visitation on WEDNESDAY, October 30th from 3 until 7 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on THURSDAY, October 31st at 9:30 AM in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua. Interment and presentation of military honors to take place on Thursday, October 31st at 12 Noon in the New Hampshire Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH.  KINDLY MEET AT THE CEMETERY.
