NASHUA—Claire Desjardins-Dupont-Picard, 80, a lifelong resident of Nashua, passed away at
St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, July 19, surrounded by her loving family.
Claire was born in Nashua on December 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Gerard and Juliette
(Theroux) Desjardins. She was the wife of the late Romeo Dupont, with whom she spent 25
years of marriage, before his passing in 1982, and Robert Picard, Sr., with whom she spent 33
years of marriage, before his passing in 2015.
She was educated at the Infant Jesus School and St. Louis High School. She then
worked in the payroll department at J. F. McElwain Shoe.
Claire was a lifelong communicant of St. John XXIII Infant Jesus Church in Nashua. She was
highly involved with the parish, and was an active member of the St. Anne Society, the Social
Life Community, and the Bereavement Community. She was a caring and loving woman in all
facets of her life, but there was nothing she cared for more than her family. Claire found great
joy in knitting mittens and slippers for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She
also enjoyed long car rides, going to Maine for lunch with her husband Bob, and spending time
at the beach. Claire devoted her life to loving her family, she was their rock, and she did not take
a single moment with them for granted.
She is survived by her three sons, Randal Dupont and his wife Tina of Nashua, Richard Dupont
of Nashua, and Timothy Dupont and his wife Mona of Nashua; two daughters, Denise Theriault
