Claire Laflamme Obituary

NASHUA - Claire R. Laflamme, 91, passed away on July 2, 2018 with her niece and great-nieces by her side.

She was born on March 16, 1927 in Nashua to Emma (LaPointe) and Alfred Laflamme, and was a resident of Kent Village - Huntington Nashua, NH.

Claire leaves behind her nephews, Andrew L. Dobens of Manchester, Arthur Laflamme, Jr. of NY and Wayne Laflamme of FL, and her nieces, Irene J. (Dobens) Gillis of Mason, and Maureen (Laflamme) Flanagan of MA, as well as many great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Claire was predeceased by her sister, Violet (Laflamme) Dobens and brother-in-law Matthew J. Dobens, nephew Richard R. Dobens, brothers, Andrew, Arthur and Leo Laflamme, and sister-in-law Marjorie (Maden) Laflamme.

Claire graduated from St. Aloysius High in 1944 and held a variety of professional seats and positions throughout her life. She was a member of the National Credit Union Management Assoc. and the National Assoc. of Accountants & Executive Society. She served as Treasurer for the Nashua YMCA,  as the Supervisory Committee Chairperson for the Nashua Municipal Credit Union and as the Director of Young Women's/Young Men's Council of Nashua. Claire became one of the first female banking executives in NH. She dedicated 27 years of service to Sanders Federal Credit Union, climbing the ladder to become CEO.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her "Favorite Sister-Vi". Their time together was spent watching their favorite baseball team (Red Sox), splitting a yummy meal, visiting family and friends, shopping or just enjoying the pleasure of each other’s company. Over the years, she also enjoyed spending time with family and friends vacationing at Hampton Beach, in Florida and in Hawaii.

Anyone that knew Claire knew she was a very generous and giving person, especially to her family.  For several years she volunteered her time and services at the Nashua Senior Center and became a Coordinator for the American Red Cross.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Kent Village in the Huntington at Nashua and the Home Health & Hospice for their compassion and care. Their staff have all gone above and beyond with the excellent care and companionship they gave her.
