OBITUARY – Evmorfia ‘Effie’ Dimopoulos
NASHUA- Evmorfia ‘Effie’ Dimopoulos, 85, died peacefully Friday morning, June 8, 2018 at Greenbriar Healthcare in Nashua, surrounded by her loving family. Effie is the beloved wife of Christos Dimopoulos.
Effie was born in Argirokastro, Albania on April 20, 1933. She was the beloved daughter of the late Nikolas and Kallopi (Natsis) Zaharis.
For many years, she was employed by various employers in the Nashua area as a material handler, and until her retirement, she worked at Owens-Illinois..
In her free time, Effie truly loved to cook and bake, especially traditional Greek cuisines for her family and friends. She was also a member of the Agape Ladies Society and a faithful member of St. Philip’s Greek Orthodox Church here in Nashua. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family.
In addition to her husband, Christos of Nashua, Effie is survived by her son George Dimopoulos of Watertown, MA; her brother, Haralambos Zaharis, her sister-in-law Kalliopi Zaharis and her younger brother Theofanis Zaharis all of Greece; her sister-in-law, Eleni Dimopoulos of Nashua as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Effie was predeceased by her brother, George Zaharis, sister-in-law, Eleni Zaharis, and brother-in-law, Charles Dimopoulos.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on TUESDAY, June 12th from 10:00 until 11:00 AM in ST. PHILIP GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 500 W. Hollis Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Service will follow in the Church at 11:00 AM. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Effie’s name to St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church.
