Gary Brodeur Obituary

NASHUA- Gary Paul Brodeur, 67, died peacefully at his home in Nashua on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Gary was born in Nashua on May 7, 1952 and is the son of Bernadette (Landry) Brodeur of Nashua and the late Roger Brodeur.

Gary was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and he enjoyed volunteering and helping others.  Before suffering a traumatic brain injury in 1995, Gary earned a Masters Degree in Accounting and became a CPA.  He enjoyed running, skiing and sailing.

In addition to his mother, Bernadette, he is survived by his son, Carl Harper and his wife Beth of  MA; his four sisters, Linda Davis and her husband Paul of Nashua, Donna Ledoux and her husband David of Bolivia, NC, Janet Brown and her husband William of Southport, NC, and Brenda Nunes and her husband Robert of Hudson; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As a result of his brain injury, Gary was paralyzed on one side and lost the ability to speak, but he was able to have a happy and fulfilled life because of the love and support he received from a team of outstanding caregivers. He always had a smile on his face and he was able to communicate with the aid of an electronic device.  The Brodeur family would like to sincerely thank John and Dianne McNamara, and Brian Lord for welcoming Gary into their homes and providing him with a warm and loving environment and for treating him as a member of their families.  There are no words to express the outstanding level of care and dedication that they all provided.  The family would also like to thank Laurie Jalbert for her years of friendship and caregiving and for helping Gary to get out into the community and enjoy many daily activities, including his absolute favorite thing, going out to lunch.  None of this would have been possible without the tireless work of Dianne Luzzy from Gateways Community Services and Nancy Farrell and all of the dedicated staff at the Nashua Center.  The Brodeur family is beyond thankful and indebted to all the special people above who took amazing care of Gary.

Relatives and friends are invited to Gary's Memorial Service on Tuesday, August 20th at 10 AM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's name to The Knights of Columbus.
