Gloria Veloza

NASHUA—Gloria Veloza, age 98, a short time resident of Nashua, passed away at her home on Pine Street surrounded by her loving family.   She was predeceased by her loving husband, Julio Veloza.

Born in Porta Cruz, Madeira, Portugal in 1920, she was the daughter of the late Manuel deFrietas Silva and Luia Joaquina (Rodrigues) Silva.  Following her marriage, she along with her husband and their six children came to the United States to pursue a better life. She lived most of her life in the Boston area and then moved to Tennessee for 10 years.  After the loss of her husband and her daughter, Manuela Sawyer, she came back to New England where she lived the remainder of her life.    

Gloria loved being surrounded by her family and a good stormy, foggy day.  She had no fear of anything.  She proved this especially when running and jumping fences with her grandkids.

She is survived by her daughters; Fernanda Faria, Guida Veloza, Isabel Andrade, her sons; Julio Veloza, and James Veloza, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She found great joy watching them all grow up.   

Visitation will be held on SATURDAY, July 13th from 4-8, at the ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH  03060. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
