Joan Osgood Lawrence

Joan Osgood Lawrence, 78, of Nashua, NH passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019, surrounded by family at Lahey Hospital, Burlington, MA following complications after surgery.

Raised in Marblehead, MA, Joan was the daughter of the late George K. and Margaret (Cann) Osgood of Marblehead. Joan was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Lynn, MA and Regis College, Class of 1963.

Her career began at General Electric in Lynn, MA in the HR department recruiting and testing engineers. She went onto Sanders Associates in Nashua, NH, followed by Digital Corporation for 12 years in various positions, and finished her working career as a staff accountant in the office of Howard H. Pellatt, CPA. 

She was predeceased by her husband Richard W. Lawrence, who died in 1995.  Together they owned and managed Cherry Mountain KOA Kamp Ground at Twin Mountain and Nashua Power Equipment Inc.

In retirement, she continued helping others and working with senior citizens as a member and past president of the Exchange Club of Greater Nashua. She had many interests including golf, playing mah-jong, reading and traveling. Fiercely independent, her most recent trip was in October to Alaska.

She is survived by her sister, Gail F. Clark and husband Bob of Naples, FL, her brother, George K. Osgood, Jr. and wife Marie of Marblehead, MA; a stepdaughter, Judith (Lawrence) Shaffer and husband Timothy of Hillsboro, NH, a stepson, Richard W. Lawrence Jr. and wife Karen of Tucson, AZ; nieces and nephews Vanessa Kersker and husband Michael of Marblehead, MA, George K. Osgood III and wife Barbara of Corpus Christi, TX, Patrick M. Osgood and wife Jodi of Topsfield, MA, Nicholas M. Osgood and wife Caralee of Hamilton, MA, Steven Clark and wife Tracy of Maui, HI, and Kristine Ronk and  husband Wayne of Bonita Springs, FL; cousins, Elizabeth McCollum of Woburn, MA, and Beverly Baldwin of Berlin, MA, and many dear friends including Judith Mulvey and Merry Sivewright.  

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Joan’s life on Friday, January 3, 2020, at 11:30 AM at the Holiday Inn, 9 Northeastern Boulevard, Nashua, NH.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
