OBITUARY – JOSEPH PHILIP BENOIT

NASHUA- Joseph Philip Benoit, 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 21, 2017. He is the beloved husband of Claire L. (Berube) Benoit whom he married on May 25, 1957.

A native and lifelong resident of Nashua, Joseph was born on June 10, 1927 to the late Josephet and Alice (Roy) Benoit. He was educated in the Nashua School System and upon reaching his 17th birthday; he joined and proudly served in the United States Air Corp until he was honorably discharged in November of 1946.

Following his honorable discharge, Joseph worked for 26 years at Nashua Corp. He also owned and operated Crown Hill Groceries for several years.

He was a car enthusiast and a fan of NASCAR. He loved his long trips to the beach and Sunday rides with his family.  Joseph was a devout communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church in Nashua.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his son Joseph Benoit and his wife Christine of Manchester, his daughter Louise McHugh and her husband Robert of Nashua; a sister-in-law, Pierrette Berube of Hudson; and many cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on FRIDAY, December 29th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W. Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment and military honors will take place at a later date at the convenience of his family in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
