Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Silva Jr.

March 5, 1942 ~ July 5, 2019 (age 77)

NASHUA- Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Silva Jr., 77 died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 5, 2019. He is the beloved husband of Carol Ann (Thibeault) Silva with whom he shared 54 years of marriage with in October.

Larry was born in Malden, Massachusetts on March 5, 1942 and was the son of the late Lawrence J. Sr. and Helen (Lundgren) Silva. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged in August of 1966.

For 33 years, he was employed by General Electric in Lynn, Massachusetts as a jet engine tester until his retirement.

In his free time, Larry had interests in photography, music which included playing his guitar, and recently enjoyed cooking and baking.  He also enjoyed watching wildlife in his backyard and enjoyed the sport of golf. He would always look forward to watching golf and in his younger years would play often to be the best golfer he could. He now joins his late dog, Lily, who he would always make sure to take long walks with through Mine Falls in Nashua. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his three children, Gregory Silva and his wife Alicia of Henniker, NH, Michael Silva and his wife Diane of Monroeville, PA, and Edward Silva of Nashua; his four grandchildren, Ryan Silva and his wife Elizabeth of Raymond, Brandon Silva of Milford, Nicholas Silva of Henniker, and Stephanie Silva of Manchester; his four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Steven, Vivian, and Olivia. Larry is also survived by his four siblings, Richard Silva and his wife Cheryl of West Peabody, MA, Geraldine “Gerri” Rossi and her husband Jerome “Jerry” of Hopkinton, MA, Kenneth Silva and his wife L.J. of Ayer, MA, and Edward Silva and his wife Elaine of Dracut; his sister-in-law Margaret Thibeault of Nashua and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family.

At the request of Larry’s family, all services were held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s name to the New Hampshire Audubon, Attn: Annual Fund, 84 Silk Farm Road, Concord, NH 03301 or to Gideon International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
