Nashua- Madeleine B. Rousseau, 92, died peacefully Friday morning, December 20, 2019, at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Madeleine was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Rousseau who predeceased her on March 24, 1984.
Madeleine was born in Nashua on August 17, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Martha (Lebrun) Bernard.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and working in her yard. Family was the absolute most important part of Madeleine’s life. She was the matriarch that made sure everyone was taken care of and made sure everyone knew her love for them. In more recent years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and she truly loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her three children, Bernard Rousseau and his wife Bethanne of Merrimack, Paul Rousseau and his wife Christine of Nashua, and Carl Rousseau and his wife Cynthia of Merrimack; her six grandchildren, Daniel Rousseau and his wife Taryn, Meghan Pearson and her husband Jon-Michael, Caroline Sousa and her husband Christopher, Joseph Rousseau and his wife Jennifer, Carl Rousseau Jr. and his wife Alexcina, and Holly Rousseau. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren.
Madeleine was predeceased by her three siblings, Lucien, Andrew, and Rita.
Relatives and friends are invited to Madeleine’s visitation on THURSDAY, December 26th from 4 until 6 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on FRIDAY, December 27th at 9 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W. Hollis Street, Nashua. Kindly meet at the church. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. Donations may be made in Madeleine’s name to St. Louis Church, 48 W. Hollis Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
