Maximino Azevedo Obituary

NASHUA- Maximino "Max" Azevedo, 83, died peacefully Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Max is the beloved husband of Judite M. (Silveira) Azevedo with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. 

Max was born in Calheta, Azores, Portugal on April 21, 1936 and was the son of the late Jose Antonio and Rosa Do (Carmo) Azevedo. He immigrated to the United States in 1983. 

Most recently, Max was employed in the maintenance department of Nashua Community College for 16 years until his retirement. Prior to his employed at Nashua Community College, he worked as a fisherman, florist, as well as a landkeeper. 

In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, tending to his vegetables and flowers. He was committed to recycling, enjoyed farming and he was an avid animal lover. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his beloved family who will miss him dearly. 

In addition to his wife Judite, he is survived by his four children, Maria Lima and her husband Jose of Hudson, Judite Correia and her husband Joao of Nashua, Victor M. Azevedo and his wife Sheryle of Paris, France, and Maria G. De Sousa and her husband Fernando of Lowell; his 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two siblings, Carlos Raul and his wife of Azores,  Lucilia Azevedo and her husband Luis of Canada, and Brother-in-Law Arnaldo Silva of Nashua, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Max was predeceased by his son Maximino Fernando Azevedo; and his five siblings, Jose, Maria, Germano, Luciano, and Lourdes. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Max's visitation on FRIDAY, December 6th from 4 until 8 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on SATURDAY, December 7th at 9 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 25 Library Street, Hudson, NH. Cremation will follow.
