OBITUARY—NORMA R. BROUSSEAU
OREGON – Norma R. (Raymond) Brousseau, 97, died peacefully on June 18, 2018 in Beaverton, Oregon, where she spent the last several years of her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Henri Albert Brousseau who predeceased her on November 27, 1979.
Norma was born in Nashua on January 26, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Raymond and Alphonsine M. (Tanguay) Raymond.
A life-long resident of Nashua, for many years she was employed as a buyer and inventory controller for Sprague Electric, Buckbee Mears, and St. Joseph Hospital. Norma always had fond memories of some early childhood years spent in Peoria, Illinois. Her love of cats gave rise to breeding Persians for a period. Be it a long-time neighbor, a fellow whist player in her card group, or a caregiver in Norma’s later years— all who met her recount her sense of humor, strong will, and convey a sincere and genuine affection for her.
In her free time, Norma attended many events at the senior center and was also active in the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family.
Norma is survived by her son Anthony Paul Brousseau and his wife Virginia of Hillsboro, Oregon; her grandson Beau Brousseau, his wife Lisa, and great-grandsons Leo and Jack of Milwaukie, Oregon; and her step-granddaughter Julie Studenroth, her husband Tony, and their children Andrew and Olivia of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by her sister Eleonore Diggins of Merrimack and her brother Charles Raymond of Merrimack; her sisters-in-law Claire Raymond of Nashua, and Carol Raymond of Wolfboro, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Norma was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Marie Brousseau; sisters Lucille Bellavance and Germaine Lesieur; as well as her brothers Roland Raymond, Robert Raymond, Normand Raymond, and Richard Raymond.
