NASHUA- Normand Robert Emond, 91, a lifelong resident of Nashua died peacefully on, Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Nashua Crossings surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Leonie Emond to whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Normand was born in Nashua, NH on July 25, 1928, and was the son of the late Adelard and Elise (Dumais) Emond.
Normand was a US army veteran honorably serving his country from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. He worked as a pipefitter for Nashua Corp and retired following many years of service within the company.
In his free time, Normand enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. Normand was also a natural prankster and loved playing jokes on his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his entire family. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his friends and family and always looked forward to trips to Pittsburg, NH where he called “God’s Country”.
Normand is survived by his wife, Leonie Emond; his son, Andre “Andy” Emond of Nashua; his daughters: Linda Strand and her husband, John of New Ipswich, and Jane Bishop and her husband, Mark of Goffstown; His grandchildren: Michael Emond of Connecticut, Brian Coll and his wife, Allisha of Troy, Christina Daniels and her husband, Matthew of Jaffrey, and Nicholas Edwards of Dover; his great-grandchildren: Rhiannon, Hannah, Dylan, Nathan, Gabriel, Trinity; and sister-in-law, Annette Emond of Nashua as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Claude Emond; brother, Omer Emond; and sister, Rachel Lemay
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on SATURDAY, October 26th from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Normand’s Celebration of Life and military honors will follow within the Funeral Home at 3:30 PM. in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Normand’s name to Nashua Crossings, Harbor Care Unit: 674 W.
