P. Susan Ratcliffe

DERRY—Pauline “Susan” Ratcliffe, age 70, passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington surrounded by her loving friends and family. She was the wife of John “Jack” Ratcliffe, with whom she spent 20 years of marriage.

Born in North Andover, MA, on November 29, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Ginny (Fox) Dow.  She was educated at St. Patrick’s School in  N. Andover MA and graduated from John A Rowland High School in Rowland Heights CA, class of 1966. After moving to Southern California as a teenager with her family, she moved back east in 1992, to be near her family.  She worked at Southwick Apparel for many years.

Susan was an accomplished knitter, spending her free time making beautiful pieces for friends and family, far and wide. She also loved to travel with her family. Recent trips to Graceland, Israel and Zambia were some of her most cherished memories. A dedicated and enthusiastic mother and “Nana,” her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Besides her devoted husband, Susan is survived by her son Michael McGurn and his wife Carrie-Ann Lund of Amherst,NH; her daughter Erinn McGurn and her husband Guy Baron of Clintons Corner, NY; her step-son John Ratcliffe of N. Andover, MA; four grandchildren, Victoria Bryer, Brody McGurn, Alexander Baron, and Talia Baron.

 Susan was the sister of the late Michael Dow.

Friends and family are invited to call on the ANCTIL-ROCHETTE and SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua on Friday, January 11 from 4 until 8 p.m.  Susan’s Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 118 S Broadway, Lawrence, MA.  Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, N. Andover.  As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Susan’s honor to Lahey Hospital.
