Peter Robert Kimo Miller

September 8, 1965 ~ October 14, 2017 (age 52) 52 Years Old

NASHUA-Peter Robert Kimo Miller, 52, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Meg Miller.

Peter was born in Boston, MA on September 8, 1965 and was the son of the late James and Jane (Yamada) Miller.

Growing up in Newton, Massachusetts, and being the youngest of six children, family meant everything to him. The relationships he had with his siblings were unbreakable bonds that will always be remembered and cherished.

Peter, more commonly known as “Coach Pete”, was employed at The Derryfield School working and coaching the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team.

Peter was truly passionate about soccer, from playing with and against his five brothers growing up, to his time at UMass Lowell, to participating in a men’s league later in life. His real passion, however, was coaching. He taught his three children how to play and began coaching in the Nashua Youth Soccer League. A friend, father, and mentor on and off the field, he would go on to coach with Nashua World Cup, Pennichuck Middle School, Merrimack High School Girls, the Nashua High School North Girls, the FC Stars, the Olympic Development Team, and finally the Derryfield School Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team. This doesn’t include the additional camps, trainings, and coed indoor teams he would take on in whatever free time he could find.

Above all, it was his hard work, selflessness, dedication, and a friendly face that helped him form countless friendships with coworkers, coaches, players, and even complete strangers he happened to come across. He was the type of person who was able to talk and relate to anyone, know everyone in the neighborhood, pay for someone’s meal, shovel their driveway without being asked, give someone the shirt off his back, or simply make time to listen to their problems.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Ryan Miller, Shannon Miller and Colin Miller all of Nashua; his siblings David Miller and his wife Debbie of New York, Ruth Anne Magliozzi and her husband Dean of Newton, Mark Miller of Marlborough, MA, Paul Miller of Newton, and Jon Miller and his wife Barbara of Rhode Island. He is also survived by his nieces, Jennifer Miller and Nicole and Kristen Magliozzi; as well as his in-laws, many dear friends and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on FRIDAY, October 20th from 8:30 AM until 10:20 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E. Dunstable Road, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will follow in the Church at 10:30 AM and his interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nashua.  In lieu of flowers, please take the following words to heart, shared by one of Peter’s close friends Tim Field, “all of you who knew Pete, do me a simple favor: Go do something nice for someone else. Pay for someone’s coffee in line at Dunks. Go buy groceries for a family in need. Or simply go outside and kick a ball with friends and family”.
