OBITUARY – RACHEL C. DESCHAMPS

DERRY- Rachel C. Deschamps, 99, died peacefully Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Leopold Deschamps who predeceased her in March of 1977.

Rachael was born in Nashua on February 2, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Salva) Lucier.

For many years, she was employed in the packing department at J.F. McElwain Shoe Company and later with Grants and Almy’s Department stores until her retirement.

Rachel is survived by her daughter, Diane Allison and her husband David of Derry and her son Donald Deschamps and his wife Jacqueline of Titusville, FL. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Rachel was predeceased by her son, Denis Deschamps in 1971; her great-granddaughter, Shannon Allison as well as her sister Jeannette Ritchott.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on THURSDAY, May 17th at 10 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 28 Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. Interment to follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rachel’s name to St. Thomas Food Pantry, 28 Crystal Avenue or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 25 Nashua Road, Londonderry, NH 03053.
