NASHUA- Roger R. Dumont, 81, of Nashua, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019.

Roger was born In Merrimack, NH on October 13, 1937, son of the late Ferdinand and Angeline (Charron) Dumont. Roger was the beloved husband of Helen (Noel) Dumont with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1958, entering at the age of 18, primarily serving in Germany during the Cold War.

Roger was employed for 38 years as an Assembler for Ingersoll Rand, Impco and CPM until his retirement in 2000.  In his earlier years, Roger had worked at Batesville Casket, Maynard and Lesiuer and more notably, Benson's Animal Farm training horses.  Roger was a hardworking and dedicated family man.  He was active in various roles at St. Joseph Church as a member of the Goood Timers, a Youth Group Advisor, Groundskeeper, supported CYO and was a major contributor that helped form the first food pantry which later grew into Corpus Christi Food Pantry.  He loved camping, dancing, tending to his vegetable garden, cribbage and the New England Patriots.  Roger loved children and over the past 10 years played Santa Claus for church, various charities, functions and Nursing Homes. He touched many hearts and bringing joy to others brought much joy to him.  Roger will be remembered for his supportive, compassionate and welcoming nature as well as his infectious laugh.  He will be greatly missed.

Roger was predeceased by four brothers; Normand Dumont, Roland Dumont, David Dumont and Maurice Dumont. Besides his wife, Roger is survived by three daughters; Elizabeth Dumont of Nashua, Kristine and her husband John Terruso Jr. of Merrimack and Katherine and her husband Robert Gates Jr. of Nashua, four grandchildren; Gabrielle, Samantha, Ryan and Nicole, two sisters; Phyllis Houle of Penacook and Marie Houle and her husband Jacques of Florida, one brother; Robert Dumont of Milford, a sister-in-law; Marguerite Dumont of Nashua and his dog, Noelle who was his constant companion.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 25th  from 5 to 8 PM in the ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 KINSLEY ST., NASHUA.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 26th in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 West Hollis St., Nashua at 9:30 AM.  After a small reception, Burial will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, Boscawen at 2 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Corpus Christi Food Bank in Roger's name; 3 Crown Street, Nashua NH.
