Roland Migneault

October 26, 1925 ~ July 11, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old


NASHUA- Roland J. Migneault, 91, a longtime resident of Nashua, died peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Barry) Migneault who predeceased him on January 26, 2014.

Roland was born in Nashua on October 26, 1925 and was the son of the late Paul and Exhilda (Normand) Migneault. He proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1946.

For many years, Roland was employed for the US Post Office as the foreman of the mails in Nashua and as the Assistant Postmaster in Hudson until his retirement in 1985.

In his free time, Roland enjoyed floral and vegetable gardening, bird watching, and traveling. He was an avid woodworker, making beautiful furniture and country decorations for friends and family. He was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Above all his most cherished time was spent with his family.

He is survived by his four children, Michelle Vaillancourt-Nugent of Salisbury, Maureen Comtois and her husband Edward of Litchfield, Michael Migneault and his wife Nancy of Lyndeborough, and Matthew Migneault and his wife Lisa of Brookline; his 11 grandchildren, Keyra Vaillancourt, Darcie Comtois, Courtney Groeneveld and her husband Erik, Erin Montagne and her husband John, Jacob Migneault, Jordan Migneault and his wife Young, Allyson Migneault and her significant other Evan, Zachary Migneault, Sierra Migneault, Alexi Migneault and Harrison Migneault. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Abigail, Sophie, Zoey, and Francesca; his brother, Fred Migneault of York, Maine and his sister, Terry McCue of New Hyde Park, New York; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on WEDNESDAY, July 19th from 5 until 8 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on THURSDAY, July 20th at 11 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roland's name to the National Kidney Foundation Fiance Department, 30 East 33rd St, New York, NY 10016.
