Ronald Gillis Obituary

NASHUA- Ronald L. Gillis, 84, of Nashua died Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Curran) Gillis with whom they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Ronald was born in Boston, MA on August 5, 1934 and was a son of the late Ronald and Lillian (Manning) Gillis.

Ronald was a US Army veteran serving for over 20 years.  He loved going to the movies, all of the Boston sports teams, Ten Pin Bowling, visiting his favorite place, Castle Island in South Boston but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and holding his wife Rosemary’s hand.

Ronald is survived by three sons; Michael Gillis and his wife Janet Hayden of Port St. Lucie, FL, Dan Gillis and his wife Laura of Auburn, NH and Tom Gillis and his wife Anissa of Nashua, one daughter; Shelly Gillis McGowan of Nashua, eight grandchildren; Brian Gillis, Kristen Gillis, Derek Gillis, Maria Gillis, Brandon Gillis, Patrick Gillis, TJ Gillis and Morgan Gillis, three great-grandchildren; Madison Gillis, Jameson Gillis and Ava Gillis as well as many in-laws  and many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was predeceased by a granddaughter; Stephanie McGowan.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on MONDAY, July 22nd from 4 until 8 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 23rd at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E Dunstable Rd., Nashua, NH.  Burial with military honors will take place in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 1 Montgomery St., Nashua, NH 03060.
