NASHUA—Ronald L. Woermer, age 71, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Waltham, MA on March 3, 1947, he was the son of the late Victor H. and Margaret J. (Neville) Woermer. He was the brother of the late Sandra Nothacker. Ronald served in the United States Air Force for four years, serving in Berlin, Germany. Upon discharge, he attended and graduated from UMass-Amherst. He then went on to work as an Executive Vice-President at Trust House Forte in San Diego, and most recently at Crowne Plaza, before his retirement in 2010.
Ron was an avid sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox. Their World Series win in 2004 was one of the highlights of his life. He had a passion for all things sports related, but an even greater passion for his family. Ronald loved coaching his grandchildren and watching them grow.
He was also an excellent storyteller, and his children and grandchildren always looked forward to hearing them. He enjoyed relaxing outdoors and gardening as well. Above all else though, Ronald loved his family, and he cherished every moment he got, and every memory he made with them.
Ronald is survived by his two beloved children, ColbyAnn Nottingham and her husband Jerome of Philadelphia, and Jon Woermer and his wife Lea of Nashua; four grandchildren, Joseph Woermer, Ashleigh Woermer, Jack Woermer and Avery Nottingham; his niece Lisa Lavallee and her husband Brian of Billerica; his great niece Anya and great nephew Caleb, as well as many other family and friends.
He was deeply loved and will be missed.
At the request of the family, services for Ronald will be held in the spring at Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica, MA 01821.
