Ruby A. Lavalley

Nashua, NH.  Ruby A Lavalley, 85, of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, in her Nashua home where she resided with her daughter Ellen Sullivan and son-in-law William Sullivan.

Ruby was born in Methuen, MA; September 20, 1933; the daughter of William and Edna (Abbott) Waites.  She attended Essex Agricultural School in Danvers, MA.  In her younger years, Ruby enjoyed roller dancing at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH where she met her first husband of 24 years, Robert W. Goossens. They had seven children.  Ruby later enjoyed travelling adventures as a member of the “Red Hatters.”

Ruby is predeceased by her husband Richard Lavalley who passed away in 2008; her daughter Claire L Goossens (1980) and her son Michael R Goossens (2017).  She leaves behind five daughters: Ellen Sullivan and her husband William of Nashua, NH; Barbara Goossens of Rome, ME; Judy Perkins and her husband Timothy of Milton, NH; Karen McManus and her husband Peter of Rochester, NH; and Maureen Saunders of Center Strafford, NH.

In addition to her parents, Ruby is also predeceased by her brothers; Paul Waites (2018) and William Waites (2018) and is survived by her brothers David Waites and his wife Shirley and Loren Ebert and his wife Carol.

Ruby will be missed by her nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life, to which family and friends are invited, will be held at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERL HOME, 21 Kinslely Street, Nashua on SATURDAY, February 23rd from 2 until 5PM.  A memorial service will take place at 4 PM during the visitation. Ruby’s family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation to Home Health and Hospice, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrmack, NH 03054 in Ruby’s name would be appreciated.
