Sandra A. Gurskis

NASHUA- Sandra A. Gurskis, 68, died at her home on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 after a courageously fought battle with ALS for over three years. She is the beloved wife of Peter Gurskis with whom she shared 39 years of marriage.

Sandra was born in Nashua on June 23, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Earl E. and Priscilla F. (Lemery) Brown. She attended Sacred Heart School, and was a 1969 graduate of Nashua High School.

Sandy took on many challenging jobs through her career, and always succeeded.  They included banking, mortgage, and real estate.

Sandy loved the holidays, especially Halloween, and Christmas.  Her family and friends always looked forward to the “Annual Gurskis Christmas Party”.  She enjoyed cruising with her friends and family, and enjoyed her trips to Maine and Vermont.  She cherished time with her beloved English Springer Spaniels, Abby and Molly, and above all, spending time with her husband and family.

Sandy was a volunteer for the Salvation Army for many years.  She also took part in an ALS research trial at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon, hoping that her participation will help towards finding a cure for this terrible disease.

In addition to her husband, Peter, she is survived by her three sisters, Gail Pinet and her husband David of Milford, Nancy O’Connell and her husband Michael of Merrimack, and Kelly Manning and Raymond Byrne Jr. of Quincy, MA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to Sandra’s visitation on MONDAY, July 29th from 4 until 8 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on TUESDAY, July 30th at 10 AM in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra’s name to the Nashua Humane Society of Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
