OBITUARY- SYLVIA CHIPMAN

MANCHESTER- Sylvia Judith (Briand) Chipman, 77, died peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, November 26, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family. Sylvia was the beloved wife of the late Prescott Chipman.

Sylvia was born in Nashua on May 7, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Ernest I. and Mary G (Desbiens) Briand. She attended St. Louis de Gonzague School, Presentation of Mary, and Alvirne High School.

For many years, she was a co-owner and operated Dyer and Chipman Drug Pharmacy as well as Prescott Realty, Inc. She also owned her own seamstress company, Sewing by Sylvia.

In her free time she enjoyed interior designing, arts and crafts such as ceramics and stain glass, as well as cake decorating. Sylvia also enjoyed cooking. She was a Cub Scout Leader and a volunteer/fundraiser for ACLD (Association Children with Learning Disabilities). Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her loving family.

She was a parishioner of St. Louis de Gonzague Church in Nashua, St. John the Baptist in Hudson, and St. Katherine Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, and St. Joseph’s Cathedral, all in Manchester.

Sylvia is survived by her sister, Diane Mulvanity Billesimo of Mancehster;  four children, Michael T. Duquette  and his wife Wanda Riley of Candia, NH, Lloyd D. Chipman and his significant other Stephanie Edwards of Manchester, Adele C. Kelsay and her fiancé Adam Yenshaw of Winter Springs, FL, and Alan L. Chipman and his significant other Tina Plourde of Manchester; her stepchildren, Prescott Cox Chipman, and Philip Chipman. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Christopher Duquette and his wife Amanda, Michael Duquette and his wife Holly, Tiffany Kelsay and her fiancé Robert Taylor, Travis Chipman, Tyler Chipman, Zachary Plourde and James Kelsay; her seven great-grandchildren, Thomas Duquette, Rylee Duquette, Kayla Thompson, Khole Kelsay, Kaleigha Taylor, Kendel Taylor, and Teagan Duquette; as well as her nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was predeceased by her sister Nora Mulvanity Charette. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on THURSDAY, November 30th from 5 until 8 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral will take place on FRIDAY, December 1st at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
