Truong Nguyen

On the morning of October 14, 2019 at 4:35am Phanxicô Xaviê NGUYỄN VĂN TRƯƠNG, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at Morton Plant Hospital, Florida  33756.

Phanxicô Xaviê NGUYỄN VĂN TRƯƠNG was born on October 5th 1930, in Kiến An, Hải Phòng, Việt Nam. He was a survivor and a pioneer. His journey began when our father married our mother in 1952. He led our family from North Vietnam into South Vietnam in 1954. On the morning of April 29th, 1975 during the fall of Saigon, he packed all of us in a small car and tried to get us into the US Embassy. During all the chaos with the help of his boss, we narrowly escaped to a faraway land.  He settled his family in the farmlands of Bellows Falls, Vermont and then Worcester Mass for a few years. He moved us to Nashua NH in 1978 where we lived for over 30 years and finally he retired with our mother to Seminole FL in 2008.

He loved his garden. Even when he had 3 jobs, he would come home on nights and weekends digging and taking care of his garden.  He was generous to the core and always willing to help anyone.  He also cherished serving the Vietnamese Catholic church in Nashua NH as the head of the community for a number of years.  We grew up loving the time spent together as a family and as a community.

He is survived by his wife Hue and 6 of the 9 children. Two sons died at birth and the eldest daughter Tuy passed away at 49 in 2003.
