Andre M. "Andy" Moreau 75, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Nashua NH to the late Gerard E. and Simone I. (Gaucher) Moreau on October 28, 1947. He shared almost 48 years of marriage with his beloved wife Priscilla (Lamarche) Moreau. Andy attended St. Francis Catholic School and Nashua High School.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969. His family owned and operated Moreau's Market on Broad St. Nashua where they were well known for their homemade baked beans and fresh butchered meats. Andy gained his business savvy working with his family from an early age. At 21 years old, Andy began a fruitful career with The New Hampshire State Liquor Commission as store manager for multiple locations until his retirement in 2003. Following his retirement, Andy was employed as a driver for Northern Foreign Auto Parts in Nashua.
As a teenager, Andy was a member of the Spartan's Drum & Bugle Corps as a base drummer. His passion for Drum Corps trickled down to his daughters Julie and Jessica who marched in the all-girls team, Suburbanettes of Hudson NH where he also served as a Board Member and Director. Andy was also a member of the Booster Club "Friends of Nashua High" which raised money for Nashua student athletics. He was quite known for orchestrating pre-game tail-gates and fundraising activities. His love of fellowship and sport carried through to his son Jon's football games at Plymouth State University. Andy was an avid sports fan from football, baseball, NASCAR – where he attended many races in Loudon NH, and his absolute favorite sport, hockey. He never missed watching a Bruins game and even attended many games at "The Garden" throughout his life. Andy was also a talented bowler and a member of the 400 club at Leda Lanes in Nashua. During the summer months, he loved vacationing at the beach with his family where many special memories were made.
Andy's hardworking, loving, and giving soul will be missed deeply by all who knew him. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, whom he loved very much.
In addition to his wife, Priscilla, he is survived by his five children, Julie Podgorni of Nashua, Kevin Johanson of Worcester, MA, Carrie (Johanson) Saarinen of Worcester, MA, Jon Podgorni and his wife Terri (Rist) of Thompson, CT and Jessica (Moreau) McLaughlin and her partner Jason Rouillard of Nashua; his five grandchildren, Madeline, Meghan, Katelyn, Mason, and Samantha; his little four-legged grand-pup and best pal, Teddy.
