Obituary

Barry M. Malburne, 74, of Litchfield, New Hampshire, passed away on May 10, 2025, following a long battle with cancer. Born on July 26, 1950, in Nashua, he was the son of the late Sophia (Ulbin) Malburne and George Malburne.

A proud veteran from a military family, Barry served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. As a Crew Chief in Dustoff, 236th Medical Detachment, Barry played an essential role in medical helicopter evacuations. After his military service, he worked as a machinist for Nashua Industrial Machine Co. and later at Heraeus-Amersil in Manchester.

Barry married the love of his life, Ann M. Malburne, and together they shared nearly 49 years of marriage. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Barry never met a stranger. He was happiest outdoors and excelled in fishing, hunting, boating, waterskiing, horsemanship, and snowmobiling. You could often find him in the garden growing vegetables and sunflowers, and he passed his love of gardening on to his two daughters. He was an avid birdwatcher and talented woodworker who built his own birdfeeders in an ongoing attempt to keep the squirrels at bay. He will be remembered for his fierce love of his family, his wicked sense of humor, and his relentless tenacity.

Barry is survived by his wife Ann, who loved him to the moon and back. He is also survived by his two daughters and his son-in-law: Jasmine Malburne of Hudson and Meredith Malburne-Wade and her husband Jeremy Wade of Knoxville, TN. Barry leaves behind his beloved grandson, Devon Malburne of Hudson. Finally, Barry will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Bonnie McCarthy, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
