Betty Lemay, otherwise known as Sweetheart, Mom, Memere, or Bubba, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026 at the age of 72. She was born in Nashua, NH to Charles and Kate (Fowler) Philbrook on November 8, 1953. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1971 and married Dennis Lemay in 1973. She most fondly remembered her ten-plus years working at Child World before it closed. She also worked at Glidden's Auto Services and Hannaford before retiring.

Betty's favorite days were those spent with her husband, family, and friends laughing around the kitchen table at home or with her toes dipped in the sand at Hampton Beach, one of her happy places. She could make anyone smile with a joke or silly face.

She is missed dearly by her husband of 53 years, Dennis; daughters Tracy Rossiter (and husband Jack) of Portsmouth, NH; Jenny Clardy (and husband Brian) of Hudson, NH; and Casey Lemay of Henniker, NH. She is blessed with two grandchildren, Samantha Clardy and Carter Gauthier, who brightened the last two decades of her life with their love and accomplishments.

She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Lacroix (and husband Roger) of Nashua, NH, and Judy Lemire of Walpole, MA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James Philbrook, and sister, Laura Dewar.

The family is grateful to the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH for ensuring Betty's comfort and peace in her final days.

There will be no formal services, but a private celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
