Obituary

Clare C. (Donnelly) Beaulieu, age 90, died peacefully Wednesday, June 15, 2022. She was born in Boston on November 16, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Bernard Philip and Bertha Elizabeth (Duffy) Donnelly. She grew up in Watertown, MA, received her education in the Watertown Public School System and later graduated from the Katharine Gibbs School. As a Katie Gibbs girl she found a job as a secretary in the Office of Naval Intelligence in Washington, DC. It was here that she met her future husband. She would often say she knew that her life was going to change in a big way the minute she met him. She and Oliva Beaulieu shared 60 wonderful years of marriage together prior to his passing on February 4, 2019.

Clare had an exceptionally quick wit and a sweet, gentle disposition. She was a caring, involved mom and a talented cook. She took great pride in preparing meals (which always included dessert!) for family and friends. She loved traveling with her husband and together, they enjoyed many international vacations. She was also an avid reader, clever in solving puzzles, and never failed to giggle at her husband's wasted effort in trying to prove her wrong! Her most cherished time was spent with her loving family.

Clare is survived by her five children, Marc and his wife Pamela of Meredith; John and his wife Helen of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Michael of Nashua,; Amy Duggan and her husband Thomas of Huntingtown, Md.; Ann Marie of Framingham, Mass.; and nine grandchildren (Elizabeth, Tanner, Alana, Sabrina, Jack, Julianne, Olivia, Joseph, and Mel), as well as her three siblings, Patricia Donnelly of Dunedin, FL,; Philip Donnelly and his wife Joan of Newton,; and Lucille Donnelly of Osterville, MA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Clare was predeceased by her sister, Marie Fitzgerald.
