Donald Desmarais, 82, died peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn A. (Scott) Desmarais with whom he shared 62 years of marriage prior to her passing on July 12, 2015.

Donald was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on April 12, 1940, and was the son of the late Oze and Evelyn (Field) Desmarais.

For many years, he worked as a truck driver for Casey & Hayes Trucking until his retirement.

In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and playing softball. He loved a good card game of cribbage and was an avid sports fan of football and baseball. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family who he loved deeply.

Donald is survived by his two daughters, Doreen Robinson and her husband Michael of Nashua and Suzanne Smith and her husband Paul of Nashua; his son, Donald Desmarais Jr. and his wife Robin of Belmont; his seven grandchildren, Donald Desmarais III, Dayna Baxter, Jacob Desmarais and his wife Kelley, Jacqueline Desmarais, Lisa Maria Baxter, Christopher Baxter, and Mark Desmarais. He is also survived by his 12 great-grandchildren, Lily, Aidynn, Emmett, Wyatt, Jude, Teddy, Mckenzie, Odiin, Peyton, Evelyn, Nathanial, and Dahlia; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by siblings, Ozzie, Gwendolyn, Alice, and Rosemary.

Relatives and friends are invited to Donald's visitation on WEDNESDAY, March 1st from 4 until 6:30 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 6:30. Interment will take place at the convenience of his family.
