Obituary

Eric Dudley Chaya, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Nashua, NH on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. He was born April 29, 1959, in Haverhill, MA to the late Dudley Chaya and Hannah Whittaker (Hanscom).

He Graduated from Salem High School in Salem, NH in 1977 and was a University of New Hampshire Graduate.  He served in the US Air Force specializing in Morse Code and served time in California, Texas, and Korea.  He was employed for many years in various trade work jobs as a carpenter.  He was a man of many talents and loved to dabble in computer programming and always loved to learn new things.

He lived all his life in New Hampshire and only left when it meant a visit with his Daughter and Grandchildren in Delaware as often as his time and health permitted.  In his free time, he enjoyed working on his CNC machine which he built himself, doing research on his family genealogy, reading, playing his guitar, listening to music, and any TV show that would make him laugh.  He was extremely charismatic and became a friend to almost all he came in contact with.  He loved to make people laugh with his silly jokes and whimsical sense of humor.

Eric is survived by his beloved daughter, Chrysta MacBlain of Delaware, his sister Judy LaRoche (Dean Laroche) of Kingston, NH, his uncle Mark Johnson of New Hampshire, his niece Amy Colbert (Jeffrey Colbert) of Derry, NH, his nephew Brian LaRoche (Sue LaRoche) of Danville, NH.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Gavin MacBlain (12) and Kylie MacBlain (8), both of Delaware, whom he loved and adored very much.

Eric was pre-deceased by his Father Dudley Chaya, his Mother Hannah Whittaker (Thomas Whittaker), Grandmother Olga Hanscom, his son-in- law John MacBlain, his cousin Beverly McDonald and various other family members of the Hanscom and Chaya Family.

A private family Burial will take place at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH where he will be laid to rest.
