Gerard Alfred
Ouellette
May 14, 1933 — Nov 29, 2021
Gerard Alfred Ouellette, 88, died peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of the late Yvonne L. (Jean) Ouellette who predeceased him in August of 2020.
Gerard was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on May 14, 1933, and was the son of the late Gerard J. and Gabrielle A. (Ledoux) Ouellette. He received his education in the Nashua school system and attended business school after graduating from Nashua High.
Gerard proudly served his country in the United States Army, 7Th Army Division, G-2 Intelligence during the Korean Conflict until he was honorably discharged.
For many years, "Gerry the Milkman" worked in his father's Moss Dairy milk business and ultimately took over operations until he retired. In addition to delivering milk, Gerry was Moss Dairy's "jack-of-all-trades", keeping the milk processing equipment operating and maintaining the delivery trucks.
Gerry was an avid saltwater fisherman, having built his own wooden outboard-powered boat that he constantly trailered to Portsmouth in pursuit of haddock, flounder, and halibut. He and his wife also loved the woods and he spent countless hours cutting trees and splitting firewood on his 10-acre property to heat their home. Later in his retirement, Gerry developed a passion for woodworking, creating numerous whirly gigs from scratch. More recently, he was a cross word enthusiast and loved building puzzles.
Gerard is survived by his two children, Marc Ouellette and his wife Catherine of MA, their daughter Michelle Ouellette, M.D. of Florida; and David Ouellette and his wife Linda of AZ and their children, Michael Ouellette of AZ and Julie Ouellette of CA. Gerard is also survived by his brother Bernard Ouellette of NH.
Gerard's wishes were to have a private service followed by his burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerard's name to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements under the care of ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
