Jacqueline Verrington, 93, died peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Nashua Post Acute Care. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Verrington.
Jacqueline was born on January 24, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Armand and Evelyn (Underhill) Bachand. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, MA and lived in Lynn until the family moved to Nashua in 1974.
Jacqueline was full of fun and energy and was incredibly sassy; she loved nothing more than warm weather, sunbathing, and a good laugh. She possessed a true green thumb—a passion she cherished sharing with her daughter, Reeny. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose joy will be deeply missed.
Her favorite sayings were ‘age is just a number’ and ‘you’re only as old as you feel’. She certainly lived every day by those words, and it showed in her enthusiasm for life and for those around her.
Jacqueline is survived by her children, Pat Verrington and his wife Deb of Atlanta, GA, Tim Verrington and his wife Denise of Nashua, Jim Verrington of Milford, and Kathy Girgis and her husband George of North Las Vegas, NV; as well as her son in law, Bill Skuse of Nashua. She is also survived by her grandchildren Frank Mckanobb-Verrington and his wife Ruth, Cassie Mckanobb-Verrington, Jacob Verrington, Lucas Verrington, Kristina Ferguson and her husband Steven, Julia Verrington and her fiancé Cody, Kaylee Verrington and Ryan Verrington; her great-grandchildren Nora and Tariq both of whom she loved dearly and who brought her joy; as well as her loving siblings Michael Bachand Sr., Armand Bachand Jr., Judith Fowler, Ralph Perry, and Mary Lee More.
Sadly, in addition to her husband and her parents, Jacqueline was predeceased by her daughter, Noreen Verrington, her loving caregiver with whom she had a deep and close bond, and her eldest brother Thomas Bachand.
Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering between 10-11am on Friday, September 11th at Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, New Hampshire 03063. A Mass will be held at 11am. Following the Mass, there will be a brief ceremony at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst Street Nashua, NH 03064. A luncheon will be held later. Details to be provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jacqueline’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
