Jonathan B. "Jon" Avnet, 77, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. He is the beloved husband of Laurie (Cunningham) Avnet with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Jon was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on February 18, 1949 and was the son of the late Harry and Eunice (Kramer) Avnet.

Jon was an avid lover of puzzles, and it was rare to find the kitchen table without one in progress. He enjoyed the challenge, patience, and satisfaction that came with fitting each piece into place. Above all else, however, the time he spent with his family was what he cherished most. He loved them deeply, and the moments shared together brought him his greatest happiness and fulfillment.

In addition to his wife, Laurie, he is survived by his two sisters, Debbie Barry and her husband Dave and Judy Avnet and her husband Ron Wilson.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Sherri Avnet.
