Joseph "Joe" A. Teixeira, 72, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 9, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He is the cherished and loving husband of Jane (Dragone) Teixeira.

Joe was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on June 14, 1954 and was the son of the late Joseph and Shirley (Landry) Teixeira.

Joe dedicated his life to the construction and engineering industry, building not only remarkable structures but also lasting relationships throughout a distinguished career. Working with numerous union contractors along the Eastern Seaboard, he played a role in shaping the skylines of cities from Boston to New York and Washington, D.C. A highly skilled Master Mechanic, Joe embodied the true meaning of a universal operator, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues for his expertise, work ethic, and unwavering commitment to excellence. He was especially passionate about mentoring the next generation of tradespeople, always willing to share his knowledge, offer guidance, and help others develop their skills. Joe was a proud member of Local 77 and concluded his accomplished career as a respected member of Local 4 of the International Union of Operating Engineers before his retirement.

Joe will be remembered for the extraordinary way he lived his life; with unwavering kindness, generosity, loyalty, and compassion toward everyone he met. He possessed a quiet strength that became most evident when faced with life's greatest challenges, meeting every moment of adversity with remarkable grace and dignity. A proud man of deep faith, Joe approached each day with an infectious sense of humor, a joyful spirit, and a playful nature that could bring laughter to any room. He was always the first to lend a helping hand, never hesitating to offer his time, support, or encouragement to those in need. Above all, Joe was devoted to his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love, selflessness, and unwavering character that will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his free time, Joe found his greatest joy in the outdoors. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and shooting, embracing every opportunity to be surrounded by nature. He also had a love for gardening and took great pride in cultivating both his gardens and always showed an appreciation for the outdoors. He was delighted in introducing family and friends to the beauty of nature. Above all, Joe cherished the time he spent with his family, who meant everything to him. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs—Coco, Oakley, Pepper, and Rosebud—who brought him endless companionship and happiness.

In addition to his cherished wife, Jane, he is survived by his brother, Michael Teixeira and his wife Caroline; his sisters, Cathy Teixeira and Mary Teixeira as well as many loved nieces and nephews and numerous treasured friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joe's visitation on WEDNESDAY, July 15th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will be held on THURSDAY, July 16th at 10 AM in Parish of the Resurrection Church, 449 Broad Street, Nashua. His interment will follow in East Cemetery, Hollis.
