Kenneth Richard "Ken" Goodsell (aka "Dicky") 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Carol (Bruch) Goodsell with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
Ken was born in Danbury, Connecticut on June 19, 1943, and was the son of the late Kenneth Hinman and Frances (Barrett) Goodsell. He attended school in Massachusetts and graduated from Medfield High School. He continued his education at the University of Missouri where he received his undergraduate degree and then proudly graduated from National University with his MBA.
For 38 years, Ken served our nation with dedication and distinction first as a United States Naval Aviator (retiring from the Naval Reserves as a Captain), then with FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). He was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as the Manager of the New England Region Flight Standards Division until his retirement in 2004.
In his free time Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing; especially deep sea fishing in Buena Vista, Mexico with his son-in-law Scot, and grandson, Luke. Ken was both a Licensed New Hampshire State Guide, and attained his 100 Ton Coast Guard Captains License.
In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by his two children Heather Goodsell Campbell and her husband Scot Campbell of Huntington Beach, CA and Sean Goodsell of Redondo Beach, CA; his grandson, Luke Christian Campbell of Huntington Beach, CA and a student of Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA. He is also survived by his five siblings, Charlie Goodsell, Marguerite Rylander-Wooley, Diane Kraft, Nelson Goodsell, and Jeffrey Goodsell; his good fishing and hunting buddy, Jared Tardie, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ken was predeceased by his son, Adam Goodsell and his two siblings, Wayne and Tommy Goodsell.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ken's visitation on FRIDAY, March 7th, from 9AM until 10AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Both the visitation and his Mass will be held in The Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, NH 03063. His interment and presentation of military honors will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's name to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
