Obituary

Lindsay Dora Toomey, 41, of Merrimack NH passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH on Monday, November 21, 2022 after a courageous four and a half year battle with ovarian cancer.
Lindsay is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Chris Toomey, their beautiful, strong children, Lincoln Warren Toomey and Charlotte Hudson Toomey, her parents Brian and Donna Maynard, her sisters Sarah Maynard and Courtney Genao and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
Lindsay graduated from Nashua High School in 1999, SUNY Cortland in 2004 with a bachelors degree in elementary education, and her masters degree in health promotion from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia in 2010. She taught social studies, language arts, and physical education during her career at Amherst NH Middle School. Lindsay played soccer during elementary school, junior high school, and high school and proudly played lacrosse at Nashua High School winning the state championships in 1998 and 1999. She was very involved in youth sports coaching girls' soccer at Amherst Middle
School and girls' lacrosse at Nashua High School South, winning the state championship in 2007, as well as coaching at Souhegan High School. Lindsay's impact lives on today with her positive influence on so many of her former athletes. She loved the beach, skiing, and most of all spending time with Chris watching Lincoln and Charlotte grow. She always said they were "her reason".

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 30,2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, NH. Lindsay's funeral service will be on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Nashua, NH followed by a Celebration of Life at Hampshire Hills Athletic Club in Milford, NH.
Lindsay's family would like to sincerely thank everyone who sacrificed and displayed endless support for Lindsay and her family during her battle with cancer. The family also wants to thank Lindsay's cousin, Alicia Jacobs, who spent time at Lindsay's side, the amazing staff at Mass General Hospital, and the Hospice House for their care and love for Lindsay.
