Lorraine R.
Simard
Sep 6, 1934 — Oct 3, 2022
Lorraine R. (Isabelle) Simard, 88, of Nashua, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.
Lorraine was born on September 6, 1934 in Nashua and was the daughter of the late Roland and Lillian (Ross) Isabelle. She attended local schools and graduated from Presentation of Mary.
In 1955 she married Leo D. Simard and had five children together. Love didn't have boundaries as they added a foster son to their family.
While raising her family, Lorraine worked in the office of Delta Education and attended Rivier College, eventually graduating with her Bachelors degree in sociology.
When Lorraine said, "Let's stay in touch", she meant it. Always keeping in contact through letter writing and phone calls, from high school friends and special people she met throughout her life.
In her free time she was an avid reader and in her younger years she enjoyed traveling with her late husband especially to their favorite place, New York City. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family who she loved deeply.
Lorraine is survived by her five children, Claude R. Simard and his wife Diana of Merrimack, Louise D. Simard of Salem, Laurie L. Thibeault of Brookline, Leo D. Simard Jr and his wife Susan of Litchfield and Lyle R. Simard and his wife Danielle of Nashua; along with her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Leo D. Simard; her foster son Robert Lambert; her son-in-law Larry Thibeault, Sr.; and her foster brother Richard Hamlin.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice of Bedford and Dr. Pierre Dionne of Hudson for their love and support; as well as two special friends, Rudy Biron and Nancy Woodward for their love and help. And a very special daughter-in-law, Susan Simard, who taught us about love and caring of a parent who is leaving us. Mom's wish was to be at home when she passed, without these wonderful people it would not have been possible.
Relatives and friends are invited to Lorraine's visitation on WEDNESDAY, October 12th from 4 until 7 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will be held on THURSDAY, October 13th at 10 AM in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 W Hollis Street, Nashua. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.
